With the tap fitted and closed, lay the container on its side on a sturdy shelf or bench with the tap at the lowest point and clear of the edge. Stand the container upright and refit the original cap first. Screw on the trigger, cap or tap by hand until it is snug. If the dip tube on a trigger is longer than the bottle, trim it with scissors so it sits just above the base.
