Our story
SoapX was founded in September 2026 by two network engineers based across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, and incorporated as SoapX Ltd in October 2026.
Cars have always been our shared passion, and it doesn't stop at four wheels. One of us began with a Ford Ka and now drives a 2020 Mazda 6, with an appreciation for great automotive design and a growing interest in motorcycles. The long term plan is a tour through the Scottish Highlands and Europe, but for now a drive through the countryside does the job. The other has a collection of vehicles and a deep interest in modification, with at least three cars usually mid rebuild. He also volunteers his 4x4 in the local community, helping people when the weather and roads turn against them. We both ride too, one on a road bike and the other on a mountain bike, which is why our range covers bicycles and motorbikes as well as cars.
As enthusiasts, we repeatedly encountered the same shortcomings in the car care market. Products that failed to deliver on their claims, slow and unreliable delivery, and pricing that rarely reflected real value. Above all, we felt that most brands overlooked people like us: everyday enthusiasts who care about their vehicles and expect quality without the premium markup.
The idea for SoapX took shape on a work trip to Germany, installing network hardware. Somewhere between jobs, a discussion about a product that had fallen short of expectations turned into a plan to build something better.
We are building SoapX in public. Every step, from the first guide to the first samples and each numbered batch, is on the SoapX story timeline.
The name and the numbers
The X in SoapX doesn't officially stand for anything. As engineers, we like to think of it as a variable, ready to represent cars, motorbikes, bicycles or whatever comes next. Our naming system was inspired by the numbered, step by step approach used in professional haircare. We wanted the same clarity for car care, so you can see at a glance which product comes next and exactly what your vehicle needs. Every product has a clear code, a defined purpose and precise directions, from No.01 onwards. Every bottle also carries its own batch code, such as 02W:001-alpha.1.017, explained on the Batch log.
Tested on our own vehicles
Our chemicals are made in the UK by a specialist manufacturer, and every product is tested on our own cars, bikes and 4x4 before it goes on sale. SoapX operates alongside our careers in network engineering, which means every product we release must meet our own expectations before it reaches yours.
Built around community
SoapX is for everyone, but at heart it's for car enthusiasts and the community around them. That's why we created Paddock, our clothing and accessories line. We want people to be proud of their cars, and proud to share them. You'll find us on Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and X, where we're always happy to answer questions, share tips and get the conversation going. Tag your builds and wash days with #SoapXLab and you might see your car featured on our channels.
Over the next five years, we plan to grow SoapX into a wider cleaning range. Whatever we add, our focus will always stay on cars and motorbikes.
Thank you for supporting a brand built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. We can't wait to see what you drive.
What we make
Everything we sell sits in one of five divisions, so you can find exactly what you need:
- 01. Chemicals: ten wash and care products, from pre rinse and snow foam to wax, glass and interior care.
- 02. Cannons & Buckets: foam cannons, brass quick connects, buckets with grit guards, brushes and sprayers.
- 03. Microfibre: 1400 GSM drying towels, wash mitts and pads, and specialist microfibre for every job.
- 04. Merch: heavyweight streetwear and accessories for car meets and track days.
- 05. Kits: complete kits for each job, with up to 5% off against buying each part separately.
Made for UK roads
British weather changes what your car needs through the year, so most of our formulations come in up to four versions: Summer for bugs and light dust, Winter for salt and road grime, Extreme for heavy soiling, and Delicate for sensitive finishes. Pick the one that suits your car and the season, or build your own 3 step wash rig and save 5%.
Not sure which to choose? Our how to use guide explains every formula and dilution.
Our standards
- Clear directions. Every product has a code, a dilution and a job, so you always know what to use and how much.
- Safety first. We will publish safety data sheets for every chemical product before it goes on sale and clear first aid advice.
- Kit that lasts. Solid brass fittings, chemical resistant seals and microfibre built to be washed and used again and again.
- Straight answers. Tell us about your car and we will help you choose the right products.

Orders are usually dispatched within 48 hours on working days, Monday to Friday. UK delivery is free on orders over £50, for parcels up to 10 kg.
