What 5 litres of snow foam gives you
One wash is one 1 litre foam cannon bottle, mixed at the ratio on the label. Worked from the current list prices.
| Formula | 5 L price | Ratio | Foam per wash | Washes per 5 L | Cost per wash | Same wash from 1 L |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Summer (S) | £34.99 | 1:15 | 62.5 ml | 80 | £0.44 | £0.81 |
| Winter (W) | £34.99 | 1:15 | 62.5 ml | 80 | £0.44 | £0.81 |
| Extreme (X) | £36.99 | 1:10 | 90.9 ml | 55 | £0.67 | £1.27 |
| Delicate (D) | £36.99 | 1:15 | 62.5 ml | 80 | £0.46 | £0.87 |
How long 5 litres lasts
| How often you wash | Summer, Winter or Delicate | Extreme |
|---|---|---|
| Twice a week | About 9 months | About 6 months |
| Once a week | About 18 months | About a year |
| Once a fortnight | About 3 years | About 2 years |
| Once a month | Over 6 years | Over 4 years |
If you wash once a month or less, a 1 litre bottle already lasts well over a year, so start there. The product planner works out the cheapest size for the way you wash.
Is 5 litres cheaper than 1 litre?
Per litre, yes. Summer or Winter snow foam is £12.99 for 1 litre and £34.99 for 5 litres. That is £7.00 a litre in the jerrycan, about 46% less. Five 1 litre bottles would cost £64.95, so the 5 litre container saves £29.96 for the same amount of foam.
The saving only counts if you use it. Measure the foam every time and you get the 80 washes. Pour by eye and you will not. The dilution ratio calculator gives the amount for any bottle.
Which formula in 5 litres
- Summer is the thick, clinging everyday foam. If you wash all year, this is the one you will use most.
- Winter is made for salt season, October to March. See winter snow foam.
- Extreme is the heavy duty foam for heavy soiling, with a shorter dwell. It mixes stronger at 1:10, so 5 litres makes 55 washes.
- Delicate is the gentle foam for matt wraps and ceramic coatings. See snow foam for wraps and ceramic coatings.
Trying a formula for the first time? Every one also comes as a 250 ml sample, which makes 4 foam cannon bottles. The snow foam finder picks a formula in four questions.
Pouring, measuring and storing
- Every container ships with a safety cap. For the 5 litre size there is a dispensing tap, sold with our bottle triggers, caps and taps. Buy it once and move it from container to container.
- Measure into the bottle. Put the water in first, then the foam, so the bottle does not foam over.
- Store it upright with the cap on, out of reach of children. The label and the safety data sheet give the storage advice for each formula.
- Never mix formulas or products together.
You will also need a pressure washer and a foam cannon. Our Snow Foam Cannon has a 1 litre graduated bottle and comes in fittings for Kärcher K series, Nilfisk, Bosch AQT and universal 1/4 inch. The method is in how to use a foam cannon properly.
